On March 21, 2019, the Slutty Vegan food truck once again graced the presence of Clark Atlanta University.
It is founder’s week at my ILLUSTRIOUS institution and the CAU Alum, Aisha “Pinky” Cole, decided to bring her food to Market Thursday.
1:04 pm
I was sitting in my room, working on some articles, when I got a message from one of my friends saying that Slutty Vegan was going to be on campus giving out food at 1:30.
I swear, I got ready so fast because I knew that the line was going to be super long and I was determined to try this food.
1:25 pm
I arrived at the line and of coarse it was already down the block. I had class at 1:40 pm, but nothing was going to stop me from trying the burger. I noticed one of my friends was closer to the front of the line than me, so (God forgive me) I cut the line and stood next to him and began my longggg journey to being Sluttified.
3:15 pm
Finally! I made it to the window to place my order. Today, the food truck was serving four items off the menu: One Night Stand, Sloppy Toppy, Super Slut and Fussy Hussy.
The full and updated menu can be found on Slutty Vegan's website.
Originally, I was going to order the One Night Stand, but by the time I got to the front it was sold out. I ended up ordering a Sloppy Toppy, with no jalapeños and an extra side of french fries.
But the wait was not over...
I had to wait an additional 30 to 45 minutes in order to get my food.
4:16 pm
Now, I was ready to be sluttified! I got my order and walked to the AUC library to eat it. I was ready to taste this plant-based burger that I have heard so much about. The burger made by a strong CAU alum. A burger that my mother, grandmother, and godmother praised. It was finally my time to be #Sluttified!
I bit into the burger and was in AWE. It tasted just like an actual burger. It didn’t taste 'healthy' and the fries were seasoned perfectly!
I was mainly shocked because the burger did not taste differently from other burgers that I have tasted before. In addition, I enjoyed the slutty vegan sauce that was on the burger. It added a nice taste to the burger.
Overall, I feel like the burger was worth the wait to get it. I enjoyed my time on the line because I was surrounded by my friends and other people from the AUC that I never met before. It was a really great experience and I cannot wait until I go again in April! I have been #Sluttified!
