Today, we travelled seven hours by high-speed train to Changchun, China.
Day six in China was spent traveling to Changchun, China! This city is a rural city in China. It is northeast of Beijing.
The high speed train did not live up to my expectations. I thought that it was going to be really fast and that I was going to be amazed. Instead it reminded me of the Metro-north or an Amtrak train.

After the seven hour train ride, we met our new hosts from Jilin University and loaded the bus.
Our new tour guide, Dora, (for the day) introduced herself as soon as we got on the bus.
On the bus, Dora told us some facts about Changchun. The fact that really stuck out to me was that Changchun was built by Japan. The city of Changchun was conquered by the Japanese for 50 years.
In about an hour, we made it to the Jilin University on-campus hotel.
The very first thing that my roommate, Deja, and I did in the room was figure out how to turn on the air conditioner. In China, the conservation of energy is very important. Whenever the keycard is removed from the room, all of the electricity in the room is cut off. From that very moment, my roommate and I decided that I would leave my keycard in the room to keep the power running because it was V E R Y hot in that room.
The bathroom was also something that I had to look at and ponder about for a few minutes. It was definitely a shock to see the bathroom. It was something that definitely confused me. I have never seen a bathroom that looked like this before, so it was definitely something that blew my mind. As soon as I seen the shower, I knew that I would have to go purchase some shower shoes from somewhere.
After we put our stuff down, we went to dinner. The dinner was held in the hotel.
